If SASSA Owes You R350 For Many Months,  See How They Plan on Paying it.

Rustenburg - The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) said on Wednesday that it will start giving the Covid-19 social relief of distress (SRD) grant of R350 to successful applicants this week. Sassa said in a statement that people who get a social relief of distress grant shouldn't go to the Post Office to get it. Instead, they should go to a store like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Boxer, or USave.

"Sassa has been dealing with the tough issue of reconsideration since August 2021. Now that the process is over, those who are eligible will start getting their money this week. "Check your bank statement to see if you were paid," the company said. Sassa said on its social media pages that payments for the new cycle of the special Covid-19 social relief of distress grant, which started in April 2022, would start around the middle of June 2022.

"The payments are being made. If your application was accepted, you will get paid. We still owe money to people from last year. Please don't rush. "You will get your money," the agency told them. Sassa also said that it would pay off any payments that were still owed from previous cycles as soon as the bank details were confirmed.

"The money won't be paid all at once; it will be paid month by month. There may be more than one payment in a month, but no one will get the same amount twice. "Sassa will make these multiple payments in a month until the backlog is cleared up. After that, payments will go back to being made every month," said Sassa.
